  7.            Contrasting color yarn
  8.            Small Amount Black yarn
  9.            Or embroidery floss
  10.            (for embroidery of eyes)
  11.            Small amount yellow or gold yarn for beak
  12.            Yarn needle
  13.            Crochet Hook Size H or
  14.            Whatever size will result
  15.            In gauge: 16sc and 18 rows
  16.            = 4 inches

  18.   Potholder: BACK:
  19.   With Blue or other Main Color: Chain 29

  21.   Row 1 (Right Side): SC in second ch from hook and in
  22.   each chain across: 28 sc

  24.   Note: Loop a short piece of yarn around any stitch to
  25.   mark last row as right side.

  27.   Rows 2-33: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. Finish

  109.   potholder. I tried just using white yarn, but it looks
  110.   better if you use yellow or gold around the beak.
